The International Academy of Film and Television cultivates filmmakers through hands-on training and workshop programs taught by mentors from Hollywood and other film capitals of the world.

Internship Positions

Bigfoot Studios' intensive internship program is designed to give newcomers to the entertainment industry hands-on experience in a fun, professional setting. We're looking for outstanding candidates who can commit to spending six months on-the-lot; living, working, and breathing filmmaking. This internship is not your typical "9 to 5" office position. You must have the passion, commitment and drive to work long industry hours and even weekends when needed.

As a Production intern, you will work on Bigfoot projects including feature films and television shows. We always have new projects coming up that give you the chance to work alongside industry professionals and use state-of-the-art filmmaking equipment. As a fully integrated company, we also offer the opportunity to work in several fields of our Post Production department. There, you can get involved in Editing, Color Grading, Audio, etc. As a production intern you will also get to attend classes and workshops held by our Hollywood professionals on all aspects of filmmaking.

How will I finance my stay?

The internship pays 800 USD/month. The Philippines is one of the most inexpensive countries in the world. So, it’s enough to live on.

How will MY SKILLS DEVELOP?

In addition to getting hands on experience on all kinds of productions, you will also get to attend workshops and classes on all aspects of filmmaking. These workshops/classes are held by our experienced Hollywood professionals. They include everything from a workshop on the RED to advanced lighting, directing and editing techniques. These Hollywood professionals will mentor you during your internship period and be your guides in their respective fields.

What is the housing situation?

You can stay in, the Casablanca Gardens Apartments, which are adjacent to the Studio . (Rooms starting at USD 200 a month). There are also many reasonably priced apartments and houses for rent in the area.

WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE?

  1. You need to provide own roundtrip ticket from your destination to Cebu.
  2. You need a valid passport
  3. You need to bring your own laptop to work on.
  4. You need to bring a USB memory stick.
  5. You have to have valid travel/health insurance that covers your six month stay. That can usually be purchased when you buy the ticket. Check with a travel agent.
  6. You have to have a credit card.
  7. You need to have or buy a GSM phone.
  8. You need to buy a local sim card once here. (Cost about 2 USD)

How do I get to Cebu?

You fly to Mactan-Cebu International Airport. The airport and is only a 10-minute drive from Bigfoot Studios.

How do I get AROUND IN Cebu?

English is an official language of the Philippines and widely spoken and understood. So, getting around is easy.

What can I do for fun?

You can swim at a local beach, get a massage after a long day or join in on a song during the Filipino favorite pastime -- karaoke. There's also plenty to do in Cebu's massive shopping malls- catch a movie, go bowling or do a bit of shopping. Discovering the local culture is also part of the fun. After work, you can meet the other interns and employees at Tiki, our company bar, which overlooks the water at the back of Bigfoot Studios.

Where can I shop?

There is a mall, a supermarket and lots of small shops nearby where you can buy all the basics. For more ambitious shoppers, Cebu City (about a 30 minute commute) has huge shopping malls and plenty of stores with everything from international products to designer jeans.

What can I eat?

Hungry interns have no trouble finding food. Local restaurants not only serve Filipino food, but also international cuisine. You can even have food delivered directly to Bigfoot, including McDonald's, Chinese food and pizza.

Bigfoot also has on-site dining options, so you are sure to never go hungry

For those who like to cook, you can get your groceries at the supermarket or outdoor market and prepare your food in Casablanca Gardens' full-size kitchen.

What happens after I finish my internship?

Bigfoot is interested in long-term relationships with upcoming talent in the industry. That's why an assessment follows each internship to explore opportunities for work on Bigfoot productions.

What do I need to be considered for an internship?

To be considered for placement in our internship program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have the dedication and passion to work in the entertainment industry
  • Have previous experience in production or your desired area of work (paid or unpaid)
  • Have exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Work well under pressure
  • Be computer literate and proficient with mainstream information technology.
